This Bill:
- Updates the Definitions as follows:
- "Acupuncture" means puncturing the skin by thin, solid needles to reach subcutaneous structures, stimulating the needles to produce a positive therapeutic response,
at a distant site,REMOVING NEEDLES andthe use ofUSING adjunctive therapies. - "TRAUMA" MEANS THE EXPERIENCE OF SIGNIFICANT PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS FOLLOWING ANY TERRIBLE OR LIFE-THREATENING EVENT.
- "Acupuncture" means puncturing the skin by thin, solid needles to reach subcutaneous structures, stimulating the needles to produce a positive therapeutic response,
- Reduces our Board from 9 members to 7.
- This is accomplished by removing one Public Member, one Chiropractor/MD/DO/MDH/Physical Therapist and one Acupuncturist and adding one member which can be either an Acupuncturist or an Acudetox Specialist.
- Removes the requirement that Acudetox specialists operate only in Chemical Dependency Programs but retains the requirement that they be supervised by Licensed Acupuncturists.
- This also requires that ADS obtain an approved signed consent form from a patient prior to treatment.
- Makes technical changes.
